Judge and Jury

I've just got our own Jillian Michaels into our competition. Dino Ago has agreed to be both a contributor and judge to our competition. I encourage you to visit his website and ask him for his advice for each of your respective weight loss goals.

A link is attached on the left hand side of the blog (Achieve FIT - Dino Ago) or you can try this site:

Hello, Blog...it's me Margaret (Ch 1)

So, I just finished running.

My tally:
4.4 miles running (Take that, Jerome!)
0.8 walking
--------------
5.2 miles - total

Rutherford is such a nice town at night. I had a minor run-in with a possum. Marge - 1. Possum - 0.

Playlist consisted of a continuous loop of Matt Nathanson's "Come on Get Higher." Thank you, Jenny Ago, for schooling me on the ways of metaphors.

My diet is still a work in progress. I ate 2 large slices of chicken ceasar salad pizza with marina sauce on the side. GAH! No breakfast. For dinner, left-over said pizza. I plan to go grocery shopping today. Jump on the Organic-Everything bandwagon. We'll see how long that lasts.

Until next time...

Winners and Losers

Ok... Neil asked about how this whole event will work, and I found myself thinking it out, running my ideas amongst different contestants. So I've come up with a definite scoring system that will help us be competitive throughout the whole endeavor.

So here goes:

MONTHLY AWARDS

Borrowing from NASCAR, we'll have awarding monthly scores after each month's weigh-in. For 'x' contestants, the person with the highest percentage lost for the month will be awarded 'x' points. The person with the least percentage lost will be awarded 1 point. For example, for 10 participants,

1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 09 points
3rd place = 08 points
4th place = 07 points
5th place = 06 points
6th place = 05 points
7th place = 04 points
8th place = 03 points
9th place = 02 points
10th place = 01 points

Every Monthly 1st place winner will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to either Amazon, Best Buy, Outback, etc.... (Don't worry about where these gift certificates... Just Thank NYSE Technologies)

FINAL AWARD

Similarly, we'll have a final weigh-in during Labor Day. Each person will be awarded 'x' points, where 'x' is the placement of each person's total percentage lost throughout the competition.

For 'x' contestants, the person with the highest percentage lost for the whole competition will be awarded 'x' points. For example, for 10 participants,

1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 09 points
3rd place = 08 points
4th place = 07 points
5th place = 06 points
6th place = 05 points
7th place = 04 points
8th place = 03 points
9th place = 02 points
10th place = 01 points

The TOTAL WINNER's formula will be calculated as follows:

(Overall monthly score) / 2 + (Total Competition) / 2 = Total Score

i.e.

(1st month's score + 2nd month's score + 3rd month's score + 4th month's score + 5th month's score + 6th month's score ) / 2

+

(Total Competition score) / 2

= Total Score

For example, if Marge scores within the middle of the pack throughout the 6 months and places 1st in the whole competition, her final score should look like this...

(5+5+5+5+5+5)/2 + 10/2 = 20 points

The contestant with the highest Total Score will be awarded 100% of all competitor's entry fee.

So far, we've got 6+ contestants... So that's $300.00+ (better yet 1 PS3 or 1 XBOX360 or 1 Wii and 1 Wii Fit)

If you have any questions regarding the scoring, please feel free to comment below.

Slacking

Okay folks, I have to admit...I've been slacking. I'm ashamed. This is a blog so we have to tell the truth. Last week I fancied steak, ice cream, sushi, burgers 2x, some gray's, halal food, longaneesa, a bag of boy bawang, chicken ceasar salad. So I indulged. A bit too much, I'm afraid. This week isn't starting off any better, but after seeing Jerome's post, I'm feeling motivated. So, tomorrow...it begins. I'm officially on the Bradley Cooper diet ala A-Team, which consists of boiled chicken, greens, and a pint of guinness. YUM! Well, I'm off to my p90x day 1 regime - Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X - while I listen to a medley of Marlynn Manson's "Tainted Love," Prodigy's "Smack My B*tch Up" and Britney Spear's "I'm a Slave for You."
